I worked at Jonathan Saunders as an assistant to both the mens and womenswear product developers. Here I worked within the critical path and as a result know what it takes to make high-end designer commercially viable - be it through the design, the fabric sourcing and the pattern cutting and costing. This role also involved a lot of practical admin work be it using Photoshop and illustrator to make spec sheets, lay plans, design prints or using Zedonk and Excell to organise the production schedule and the costings. I also had to deal directly with knitwear and jersey suppliers in china and Italy and other domestic UK factories. Here I also worked closely with the sample room Manager and pattern cutters in order to create production patterns for tech packs, often pitching in with the alternations and grading of patterns when necessary.
